French Press - French Press

This method is ideal for preparing a full-bodied, strong coffee with a distinctive body. Here's how to achieve the best results, step-by-step.

1 - Prepare the pot

Rinse your French press thoroughly with hot water before preparation. This optimally pre-warms the glass or stainless steel so that the brewing water does not cool down too quickly during extraction. Then pour out all of the warming water.

2 - Grind coffee

Weigh out exactly 30 grams of whole beans. Grind the beans to a coarse grind (the consistency should be roughly similar to coarse sea salt or granulated sugar). Too fine a grind would clog the metal sieve and allow too much coffee grounds into your cup.

3 - Have a seat

Pour the 30 grams of ground coffee into the preheated French press pot and shake it very gently until the surface of the powder is level. Now place the pot on your digital scale and tare it to "0 grams".

4 - Pour coffee

Bring the water to a boil, then let it cool briefly until it reaches the ideal temperature of 94–96 °C. Start the timer and pour 500 grams of water quickly and evenly, ensuring all the coffee grounds are fully saturated.

5 - Extraction & Serving

First, let the coffee steep undisturbed for 4:00 minutes. A coffee crust will form on the surface. After the time has elapsed, gently stir this with a spoon so that the coffee grounds sink to the bottom. Place the lid on and slowly press the plunger down with even, light pressure.

6 - Enjoy

It's best to pour the finished coffee directly and completely into your cups or a separate pot so that it doesn't over-extract and become bitter in the French press. Let the coffee cool down briefly until it reaches the optimal drinking temperature. We wish you the highest enjoyment!
